| I never thought it possible: a real punk band on MTV! Considering the fact that MTV (Moron TV?) plays almost nothing but (c)rap and r&b that is an amazing thing indeed. Their music doesn't have quite the aggressive edge that Operation Ivy and Citizen Fish do and they don't have the raw passion and emotion that Jawbreaker (Punk/Emocore) has. However they have a punk sound that is all their own and still very good. They are definitely the most high profile punk band out there because they are the only one to have a hit as large as "Pretty Fly", and of course Blink 128 doesn't count as a punk band. Some of their songs sound a bit more like alternative than punk, but the majority of their songs are definitely punk. If you like the Bouncing Souls, then you'll like the Offspring as well. |
