They are another good band. While it is true that they aren't as good as The Toasters, they do have a lot in their own right. I would recommend that you pick up one of their cds after you get a Toasters cd. Some of their songs might be too bouncy for some, which is one reason why I recommend that if you don't like bouncy ska that you get a toasters cd first. Sometimes their singer makes them sound too silly, but they you still gotta love their music. Basically if you have the money, and have already gotten some of The Toaster's cdz get 1 of theirs, but if you have to decide between The Toasters and The Scofflaws then take the toasters cuz they are better. Keep in mind too that I have only one of their albums, that one being Ska in HiFi. As I said above The Toasters are a bit better, but if you are a ska fan you should like them nonetheless. Some of their songs are a bit silly, but most of them are actually pretty good. The first song, the Whip Version on Ska in Hifi is one of those really good ones, but nude beach is too silly and bouncy for me. Just my opinion, but if you aren't really into ska then chances are they aren't a band you'll like. However that should not stop you from giving them a chance because their style, though it is ska, is very unique and they aren't like any other ska band that I have listened to. |
