I got 2 of their cds and they are pretty good. Their music is not as fast and full of energy like the toasters or scofflaws, but that is because the specials are a second wave ska band. I don't recommend that anyone who doesn't like two-tone buy their cds or even listen to them because they lack the energy that 1st and 3rd wave ska bands like the skatalites and the toasters have. The only time that I can see that anyone would really enjoy listening to their music who doesn't like two-tone is when they are feeling totally mellow and want to listen to something that fits their mood. They are good for their style, but they definitely aren't as good as other ska bands like the toasters and skatalites. Might be worth your time to check them out. I think they are pretty good, but then again I don't really have much against 2nd wave.
