| BBVD is a bit more energetic than bands like the cherry poppin daddies and the brian setzer orchestra. They also vary the speed of their songs. Some of them are really fast, while others are really slow. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is more than just a swing band because it isn't tied down to just pure swing in its style. Though their style is swing, they also combine elements of the blues and jazz in their music. This combination gives them a sound that is not only unique to them, but let's them break out of the traditional swing mold with something that is refreshing and worth listening to. Scotty does better vocals than any other swing band's singer I have heard. Those who don't like the very sexual lyrics of the Cherry Poppin Daddies will like BBVD. BBVD is a new band so help them out by buying their cd. |
